为什么这些句子要加上OUT，没有它不行吗，OUT在这里有什么作用？？？
- she is out in china。
they are rarely caught out at sea。
两个句子out都是副词，用在这里当然有它的合理之处：
（1）she is out in china。这里有out则表明“她原来不在中国。”out这时作“，离家。”翻译则为“她出国了，现在在中国”即：“她出国到了中国”she is out in china将“出国”“在中国”都表现出来，要是去掉了out，则是she is in china“她在中国。”则就没有了“出国”这个含义。“她可能本来就在或者是从外国进入的。”则不明确“出国”的含义，而既然用了就表明了“出国”“在中国”两层含义。
（2）they are rarely caught out at sea。
这里不是caught out 的用法，因为“caught sb. out 并不是所谓的“侦察发现”而是“发现某人的错误”很明显在本句中说不通，应该这样理解：
be caught“。。被抓住”out at sea“出海”
“他们出海很少被抓住。”这里为副词，out at sea作状语。
有out则表示“在出海的过程中。。”若去掉out，则表示“在海上。。在航海”比较：
they are rarely caught out at sea。“他们出海时很少被抓住”
they are rarely caught at sea“他们在航海中很少被抓住。”
