这个题如果单纯从语法角度讲主语是单数。从逻辑上讲……the teacher and writer可以理解为既是老师又是作家的人，knife and fork也固定化成了一套刀叉。但是the boy and girl显然按照上面两种方式都理解不通，没有既是男孩又是女孩的人，也没有固定化的一套南女孩。估计是题错了吧。如果是the boy and the girl那一定是are，这不是there be的句式，不存在就近原则。
